The good thing about Garmin is you don't have to pay any subscription for their platform. The bad thing are their devices.

You’re doing yourself a disservice if you’re not using WorkOutDoors on the Apple Watch when running. That app alone makes it superior to a Garmin.

It is unfortunate nonsense. If you're unfit then jog in zone 2. If you're fit then run threshold and tempo, not zone 2. You run to run. You jog zone 2 to get good at jogging zone 2. All the metabolic benefits come from zones 3 or 4. (I run a 2h40 marathon).

You should have incorporate cycling into your zone 2 training, works very well!

Here's a tip.....make sure you have a charger nearby at all times. You'll need it more than once a day. Otherwise, just get a Garmin and charge once a week or so.

Wow! 9+ average hours sleep! I average a little over 6 my entire adult life. I would hate to lose 3 hours of life everyday.

I wear iWatch 8. I just checked the kcals it shows on my daily bicycle rides. They are very conservative when compared with average kcals burned per mile. At least 20% lower on the watch than what I would estimate based on speed and distance and terrain. You had me worried, needlessly.

I wonder if AW still does the same. I had Garmin and now AW and in general I have the same output as I had with Garmin when deliberately registering activity. However there were days, where Garmin would tell me that I burned like 70kcal during whole day when not excising and doing 7k steps. AW tells around 350 for those days.

I’ve been aware of zone two and the benefits of heart rate training for 4/5 years. However I recently went and had a vo2 max and lactate threshold tests. What I thought was my easy pace was far from it and based on the data, my zone 2 is very poor. I’m doing a 12-16 week training block with zone 2 focus to see how I improve.
